Tim Rundle Studio is a London-based industrial design practice with experience in furniture, lighting, consumer products, technology and transport.

Tim graduated from the School of Architecture and Design at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand, and began working for Auckland based consultancy Formworks. Tim relocated to London in 2008 and prior to setting up his own studio in 2015, he worked for Tom Dixon in the role of Head Designer of Furniture and Lighting and Design Director for Product Design at Conran and Partners. Alongside his studio, Tim also runs ‘Platform 23 – Design for Manufacture’, the prestigious Design Products Masters program at the Royal College of Art in London.

Working with a young design brand was appealing. It is always good to work with someone from the start who you know is going to be successful. I could see they really knew what they were doing and their first collection with Metrica created such a high standard from the start.

As a New Zealander working in London for an Australia brand that’s made in Italy, I am free from the burden of a long design history that many European designers would be working under the shadow of. We can frame our work with a very international perspective, in a similar way to antipodean cuisine that borrows the best from around the world and develops its own unique take on it.
